Welcome Local 445 Shop Stewards!
Shop Stewards are members who have been elected by their coworkers to police the contract, represent workers when called to meet with management and resolve basic workplace issues. Shop stewards are trained at the Local 445 Leadership Academy several times per year. Shop Stewards work very closely with Local 445 Business Agents and staff to ensure that their worksite issues and victories are resolved and celebrated. Shop Stewards- we salute you!
Shop Stewards are the backbone of our local. If you have a good Shop Steward please thank them today for the work they do for all of us! If your worksite doesn't have a Shop Steward call your Business Agent to nominate someone or yourself today!

Shop Steward Workshop 101- Learn the basics of issue/grievance resolutions, information gathering, filling out a grievance form, and upholding your union contract.
Shop Steward Workshop 102- Prerequisite: Successful completion of Shop Steward Workshop 101 and 6 months of being a Shop Steward. Shop stewards will learn and practice advanced grievance handling, preparing for arbitration, and internal organizing skills to help them represent and defend their co-workers.
Member Organizer Workshop - an intensive training for those stewards and active members who would like to become Volunteer Organizers. Volunteer Organizers work closely with Local 445 staff to organize new workers into our local.
